This car was originally sold new in the USA in December 1958 and came to Europe a few years ago. A Frenchman bought it at the time and imported it to France, where it underwent a complete restoration. This restoration was carried out to very high standards, while several modifications were also made. The car was originally supplied to a dealer in New York in cream with a biscuit-coloured interior, but the Frenchman had the car repainted in a period-correct red colour. The biscuit-coloured upholstery has been retained. A new black mohair soft top with soft-top cover was also fitted at the time. As for the condition of the car, the photos speak for themselves! Technically, the car underwent a complete overhaul and the original automatic transmission was replaced by a five-speed manual gearbox. The brakes were upgraded with a master cylinder and the suspension was reworked. A set of adjustable Spax shock absorbers was fitted for improved road holding. Three SU carburettors provide the correct mixture ratio and the right sound from the twin-cam engine. A stainless-steel exhaust completes the package. To keep everything cool, an aluminium radiator with an additional Kenlow fan was fitted. The car drives and performs perfectly and handles excellently on the road in all conditions. The leather interior looks very good and has always been well maintained. The dashboard is equipped with the original Smith gauges, all of which work properly. All chrome parts are in good condition. The chrome wheels are fitted with new Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres in size 205/70-15. The car is also equipped with a chrome luggage rack, Lucas spotlights, new wiring harness, chrome spare wheel, etc. The car is currently still registered in France and is supplied with the Jagaur Heritage Trust certificate.
