The Ford Sierra RS Cosworth is a performance-oriented version of the Sierra family car produced by Ford Europe in the mid-1980s. The car was developed by Ford's motorsport division, which aimed to create a high-performance vehicle that could compete in rallies and racing. The Sierra RS Cosworth was equipped with a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine that produced 204bhp and 214 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the fastest cars of its time. The exterior of the Sierra RS Cosworth was designed with aerodynamics in mind, featuring a distinctive front grille, a large ‘whaletail’ rear spoiler, and wider wheel arches to accommodate its wider track. Inside, the car was fitted with Recaro bucket seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as a range of gauges and dials to monitor the car's performance. The Sierra RS Cosworth proved to be a successful rally car, winning several championships and races throughout the 1980s and 1990’s.

Presented in striking Moonstone Blue, this fabulous 1987 example was originally finished in white. Acquired by our vendor in 2018, it has been carefully maintained throughout his ownership and remains in excellent condition today. Showing fewer than 70,000 miles and accompanied by 11 service stamps, this Sierra Cosworth's impressive history reflects the care lavished upon it not only by its current custodian but also by its six previous owners. Sensible and sympathetic upgrades have been added by a former owner, most notably boost and temperature gauges, which complement the car's performance without detracting from its character. Well maintained, attractively presented and increasingly sought-after, this low-mileage Sierra Cosworth represents an excellent example of the legendary ‘Cossie’. It is offered with a current MoT test certificate and, with its 40th anniversary approaching, will soon qualify for historic vehicle status, becoming exempt from MoT testing, Vehicle Excise Duty and ULEZ charges.
