Austin Healey 3000 Mk III Phase 2, year 1968.

Chassis (VIN) number HBJ8 L/42999.

Exterior finished in Colorado Red, complemented by a black leather interior with red piping and black carpeting. Fitted with a black soft top and matching hood cover.

This magnificent ‘Big Healey’ comes from the final Phase 2 series and was built in November 1967.

It was subsequently shipped to Philadelphia, USA, where it was first registered in February 1968. After this Mk III Phase 2 example, only 27 further cars were produced, the very last leaving the factory in March 1968. The car was later imported into the Netherlands, where it has had just one owner since 1995.

This wonderful example underwent an extensive, top quality restoration 25 years ago.

The work was carried out to the highest standards, and the owner has maintained the car with exceptional care ever since; it remains in superb condition throughout.

The Austin Healey 3000 Mk III is the most comfortable and most luxurious of all the ‘Big Healey’ models, featuring an easily operated convertible hood, wind up windows, and a refined interior with a walnut dashboard. The powerful and reliable 3000 cc straight six engine, equipped with twin S.U. carburettors, runs and sounds beautifully, while the gearbox with overdrive shifts crisply and precisely.

This example retains many fine original details and is equipped with desirable features including chrome wire wheels fitted with Michelin XVS 185 15 tyres, a Moto Lita wood rim steering wheel, K&N sports air filters, electronic ignition, an electric cooling fan, an alternator, and an ANSA exhaust system. This Austin Healey from the final Mk III Phase 2 series is a truly outstanding example for the discerning enthusiast.
