Chassis 103485 was registered new to its first owner, a resident of Northamptonshire on the 1st of August 1989 via Monarch Porsche Centre, Warwick. Production of the 911 Carrera 3.2 concluded in July 1989 as the assembly lines transitioned to the upcoming 964 generation with only the 911 Carrera 3.2 Speedster continuing into August and September, making this Supersport one of the final 911 Carrera 3.2’s produced. This example benefits from being one of a handful which were specified through Porsche’s ultra-exclusive Sonderwunsch “Special Wishes” department, where it was bespoke-built and personalised to the owner’s exact specification, creating the only Supersport like this. Finished in specially ordered Forest Green Metallic over a Slate Grey leather interior and linen carpets. It was ordered new with the following factory options; front and rear impact shock absorbers, heavy duty battery, limited slip differential (40% slip factor), rear seat belts, sport seats with electric height adjustment, rear window wiper, Hi-Fi package (eight speaker system with amplifier), Supersport package, deletion of model rear designation, top tinted windscreen, electric sunroof, luggage compartment trimmed in black velour carpet. Additional special options are the 930 Turbo LE rear intake brake-side vents, shortened gear lever and body-coloured matching wheels.
The custom-specified interior commissioned through the Sonderwunsch program has been expertly crafted in Slate Grey leather, extending to the dashboard, door panels, A-pillars and rear parcel shelf. The front and rear seats are upholstered in Linen leather, complemented by Slate Grey leather seat centre stripe and piping, while Linen carpets complete the interior.
The car was purchased by its previous owner in 1998 and has a very comprehensive maintenance history with invoices spanning from new to present, and is accompanied by its original service book containing 21 service stamps. In 2016 the suspension, exhaust and braking system were refurbished. The latest service was at 85,173 miles by Canford Classics which included spark plugs, HT leads, alternator belt, transmission oil change and brake fluid change.
Upon acquisition, we entrusted the vehicle to marque experts Canford Classics for a complete inspection and to expertly prepare the vehicle for sale. All items identified as requiring attention during the inspection will be rectified for the new owner, with the majority of the work already completed and the remaining items to be carried out at the point of sale. This work has included; restoration of the engine bay, a major service, installation of new engine mounts, oil lines and one rear intake brake-side vent, corrosion repair to the front scuttle with a new windscreen installed, new tyres, a full exterior machine polish and detail, MOT passed first time with no advisories, accompanied by very healthy compression and leak-down results of 185-200 psi and 1-5% respectively.
Through carefully measuring the paintwork which is in excellent condition, we’ve determined it to be original paint, with the exception of the front scuttle which we’ve had repaired, and the rear scuttle which was repaired due to corrosion in 2006. A small section above the rear wing foils was touched up in the 1990s to rectify stone chips, along with a section of the front bonnet. We’ve decided to preserve the originality, as it’s extraordinarily difficult to find and a rare feature which enhances the vehicle's provenance and collectability.
Presented in excellent condition with its original paint and complete with its leather pouch, book pack, original service book, history file, spare keys, tool kit and spare wheel.
