Engine management is handled by a modern system with fuel injection and mapped ignition. Additional upgrades include a reinforced gearbox, adapted gearing, ventilated front disc brakes, rear disc brakes, Bilstein suspension, and speed-sensitive power steering. The result is a driving experience far removed from the original Beetle and closer to a modern lightweight sports car.
