The Beetle
it runs... and runs... and runs...
The Beetle has delighted millions of people for over half a century and has undergone various transformations in its more than 50 years of production.
Its popularity is mainly based on its simple simplicity and reliability.
History
The first owner bought the car in Munich in 1963 (see new car invoice) via MAHAG and only sold it to the second owner after almost 30 years in March 1992.
This owner sold it to the current owner around 25 years later. The current owner was a car dealer and classic car collector. He never had the car registered and moved it regularly with "red" dealer license plates. As a result, there is no "newer" vehicle registration document / vehicle registration certificate and therefore only 2 owners are entered in the registration document.
The Beetle shows a great deal of authentic originality and must have been cared for and loved all its life. The interior is beautifully authentic and the paint thickness measurement showed mostly values of a first paint job. A closer look at the paintwork shows it to be beautifully authentic and not polished.
Technically, there are no defects in the bodywork, steering, chassis or engine... It runs... and runs...
Since it was last moved in the summer of 2023, resuscitation work such as brake fluid changes, oil changes and lubrication work before the first start makes sense.
The Beetle is not registered but should pass the test for an H license plate as a classic car without discussion; visually and technically.
Market classification
Over the past 20 years, prices for Beetle models have risen sharply at times before settling back down to a more realistic level, especially for so-called “DIY Beetles.” However, vehicles that are characterized by a high degree of originality and authenticity have always proven to be remarkably stable in value—and this example is no exception.
Conclusion
This Beetle is one of those unadulterated vehicles that impresses with its honest substance and exceptional original condition. It is much more than just a classic car: it is an impressive witness to history, a rolling time capsule from the years of the economic miracle – authentic, unmodified, and with a charisma that brings history to life.
Take advantage of this rare opportunity and place your bid for a vehicle that has never been adapted to fashion trends, but has retained its identity. A cultural asset in automotive form that is viewed with sympathy and respect, both then and now – ready to begin a new chapter in responsible hands.
