Description

The Porsche 964 is one of those 911 generations that has aged incredibly well. At launch, it brought the classic 911 concept into a much more modern era, while still keeping the ingredients that make an air cooled Porsche so special: compact proportions, real mechanical feel, a naturally aspirated flat six engine and a driving experience that still feels wonderfully analogue today. Within the 964 range, the Carrera 2 Coupé with a manual gearbox is the one many purists want. Rear wheel drive, the 3.6 litre M64/01 flat six engine, 250 PS and the G50/03 5 speed manual gearbox. No unnecessary drama, no overcomplication. Just a proper air cooled 911 that you can get in and drive.

And this particular 964 Carrera 2 is exactly the kind of car that gets us genuinely excited. Not only because it looks absolutely fantastic, but because the full specification tells a very clear story. It was ordered by someone who clearly understood what makes a 911 great. The car was delivered new in Germany in 1990 through Werksauslieferung, meaning factory delivery, and was first registered on 05/04/1990 a doctor in Düsseldorf. He chose the right mechanical layout: Carrera 2, rear wheel drive, and a manual gearbox. Exactly the ingredients you want in a 964. He also kept the car beautifully focused: slicktop body, no sunroof, no air conditioning and originally even no right hand exterior mirror. That right mirror has now been added for practical use. The factory data also confirms 4 special Z-orders, showing that this was not a randomly specified 964, but a car ordered with clear individual choices. The car is Finished in Tannengrün Metallic over a Cashmere Beige and Black supple leather interior, this 964 has one of those specifications that simply works from every angle. In combination the car was ordered with yellow fog lights, supple leather front and rear seats and a leather trimmed handbrake lever, dashboard and mid console.

The documentation supports the story very well. The original German Fahrzeugbrief is present and documents the early German ownership history. The car also comes with its original Porsche booklets, including the stamped service book and operating manual. The service book confirms the original vehicle data, including the L22E exterior colour, YA interior code, C00 German delivery and the factory option codes. Early service stamps from Porsche Zentrum Düsseldorf are present, followed by later specialist entries, giving the car a proper documented foundation. The car was recently inspected in Germany on 04/03/2026 at 90,246 km and passed without defects. It has just been fitted with brand new tyres, has been freshly polished and is ready to be enjoyed!

For us, this is everything a great 964 Carrera 2 Coupé should be. Tannengrün Metallic over Cashmere Beige and Black, manual gearbox, rear wheel drive, pure specification, fresh tyres, freshly polished paintwork and a presentation that is simply spot on. A cool, usable and genuinely special air cooled 911.
