Etched in the memory of those who experienced the 1990s as children or young sports car enthusiasts: the Jaguar XK X100 series, the Jaguar coupé that ideally traced its roots to the E-Type of the 1960s, replaced the now retired XJ-S - after years of honorable service. It was presented at the end of 1996, after a long gestation period.
The body, available in both coupé and convertible versions, was based on a completely new design partially shared with the Aston Martin DB7: the XK8 featured a new V8 engine, still front-mounted with rear-wheel drive, available in both naturally aspirated and supercharged versions for the English 2+2, specifically in the R version we present to you.
The 2003 restyling brought several improvements: displacement increased to 4.2, the R's power increased by 30 hp, a ZF 6-speed gearbox replacing the old Mercedes 5-speed, a new, larger front grille in a redesigned bumper, and upgrades to the interior materials. Performance was impressive: 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The example offered, created for the Italian market in British Racing Green with a sand-colored interior and soft top, was registered on March 12, 2004, by the Jaguar dealership in Pesaro for the first owner, who owned it until May 2007, when it was traded in for another car at Autoluce in Modena. In June of the same year, the car passed into the hands of its second owner, who kept it for just six months before trading it in for a Porsche at the official dealership in Bologna. Shortly thereafter, it passed into the hands of the current owner. It's part of the latest series, so it delivers 400 horsepower thanks to the pleasant thrust of the supercharger and a 6-speed transmission.
The car has traveled 69,000 km in 22 years, most of which were serviced at the Jaguar dealership in Bologna. At the time of purchase, the current owner decided to have the green soft top redone, matching the body color, replacing the previous beige soft top, which was removed and kept as a set.
In addition to the soft top, two metallic green "Jaguar" suitcases are included, which can be secured with leather straps in the rear luggage rack. Finally, the original beige soft top cover is included, which matches the interior upholstery.
CRS ASI and comes with full original equipment. The car can be viewed by appointment in Bologna.
