Description

One of the most iconic designs ever from Ferrari. Beyond its engineering, the Testarossa is probably the poster car of the 1980s appearing in magazines, music videos and television and capturing a global appetite for bold design and flamboyant performance. Its wide stance, slatted sides and dramatic rear end came to define an entire era of supercar aesthetics. Today, that image is a large part of the Testarossa’s charm. It evokes neon nights and coastal highways, the kind of confident ostentation that is now cherished by collectors and enthusiasts.

Exterior

  • Year/Build: Production start 15-Mar-1989, completed 23-Mar-1989. Danish registration (will be supplied) and copy of previous German papers.

  • Attractive Nero DS1240 non-metallic black with Nero VM8500 black leather interior

  • Condition: Excellent, professionally detailed; original chrome hardware with one replaced chrome front-hood handle (new, purchased used and fitted). All original except upgraded radio with Bluetooth (original radio included). Sports exhaust currently fitted; original exhaust included.

  • Odometer reads: 28,233 km.

Mechanics & Performance

  • Matching-numbers car — original engine and gearbox retained.

  • Engine: Flat-12, 4.9 L (4,943 cc) Ferrari Testarossa engine (non‑catalytic original specification).

  • Performance: Period-classic Testarossa performance — high-revving 12-cylinder power delivery, brisk acceleration and stable high-speed touring character typical of late‑80s Ferrari front-mid-engine layout. (Exact stock power quoted historically ~390 hp; feel free to request official dyno sheet.)

  • Drivetrain & Running Gear: Manual transmission, properly maintained; original clutch and major driveline items replaced during documented services where applicable. Original spare/service parts and tools follow the car.

  • Recent works: Extensive maintenance and repairs performed between 2022–2024 by Ferrari Denmark and Ferrari specialists; more than €33,000 spent in recent years. New battery, filters, hoses, cambelt, clutch and release bearing, spark plugs, gearbox oil, alternator, engine and gearbox mounts, wheel bearings, various gaskets and seals, air‑con conversion R12→R134a, brake fluid, and many other items (detailed list in Service History). Original exhaust is included.

Ownership History

  • First delivered April–May 1989 to Dipl.-Ing. Lutz Krüger (Laatzen, Germany); sold to first private owner May 18, 1989 (dealer Helmut Boczkowski).

  • Series of early dealer transactions and short registrations 1989–1991 (documented advertising and dealer ownerships).

  • Multiple subsequent owners/dealers in Germany and the Netherlands through the 1990s; part of a Cologne collection until sold to current seller in May 2022.

  • Currently in private ownership since 2022; full provenance research provided by well-known Ferrari sourcer Andreas Birner.
