1925 VAUXHALL 14/40 Princeton Tourer.
Chassis Number: LM2614
Registration Number: SV7947
The Vauxhall 14-40 made its debut at the 1921 London Motor Show, with the first deliveries reaching the public the following year. Designed by Clarence King, this new model featured a 2. 3 litre 4-cylinder engine mounted in-unit with a three-speed gearbox. ? ?

Six models were listed, including two and four door Tourers, three styles of saloon, plus Landaulette and Coupe models.? ?

1924 saw the introduction of the improved ‘LM’ Series, with a higher compression engine now developing 40 bhp. A four-speed gearbox was now fitted, as were wire wheels in place of the previous disc type. As with the larger Vauxhall models, the 14/ 40 was much favoured in the Antipodes, as well as many other parts of the British Empire where road conditions demanded a sturdily built motor car.

The 1925 Princeton 4 seat Tourer we present here was imported from Australia in 1999, whereupon it was extensively restored over a six-year period both bodily and mechanically with work undertaken by a respected marque specialist. A massive & extensive history file comes with the car detailing the vast expenditure that went into it.

A new set of Blockley tyres has recently been fitted and there is also an Auster rear passenger windscreen. This car is in simply superb robust mechanical order starting readily & driing beautifully. The Griffin Mascot to the prow is an original item. The Black leathe ruphostery is in really fine condition as is the green over black exterior paint. The red painted wire wheels set off the whole enseble nicely. The roof is easy to erect & again is in excllent order.
To sum up: this is a car that wants for nothing & is ready for extended summer motoring.
