A large and imposing Rolls Royce Phantom 2 with pleasing & quite rakish lines making for a well proportioned body by Croall of Edinburgh.
This car is in solid sound conditon & has recently done several long cross country journeys covering the miles with aplomb. Quite an assortment of bills come with the car attesting to regular maintenance with invoices from various marque specialists including Hoffmans Of Henley, Taylors of Chichester & Ben Smith of Devon. The car starts easily & pulls strongly with a go anywhere feel to it.
The first owner: Charles Dickson (1862/1944) was a 2nd generation Candle & Tallow manufacturer – the company was originally a partnership between Charles Snr 1837/1894 and his brothers Stair & Alexander, in 1877 they formed a limited company - Dickson Candle Works Ltd of Loanhead. In 1861
Paintwork is pale yellow over black & is in generally good order thoughout. The rear seats have been re-upholstered in correct Bedford cord extending to the twin occasional seats. New burgundy carpets are found under foot. The front seats are of black leather again having been redone & consequentley are in very good condition along with the door cards. The headling has also been replaced with new material.
Polished aluminium ace wheel discs are fitted all round & a large patinated motoring trunk is found to the rear. Indicated mileage in 1991 was 39,100 miles. The car is now showing an indicated 52,235 miles averaging at just over 500 miles per year. Correct Lucas P100 headlamps adorn the front of the car.
This is overall a pleasing car in good running order. It is not concours but is in very useable presentable condition with a smart interior. The car is located on the current owners farm near Dumfries just over the scottish Border. We can deliver it anywhere in the UK in a covered trailer or ship world wide. It may also be viewed there by prior appointment.
