1972 | MG MGB

This very honest, usable MGB was driven over to us from York and was instantly recognised. We sold the car back in 2004 and a lovely York couple have enjoyed it ever since. In 21 years of ownership the B has proven an enjoyable, reliable and usable car and we couldn’t resist taking it back after all these years.

GVY 727L is a true York car having being first registered in the City when new in 1973. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate tells us this MG B Roadster was supplied new out of Forsselius Limited of York on the 10th of January 1973.

The car presents as an older restoration but it does have a lovely charm with its honest, perfectly acceptable and aged paintwork. The interior complements the paintwork remarkably well with the Green carpets contrasted by the Magnolia seats. The Rostyle wheels offer a sporty dynamic to the exterior in keeping with the sportscar aesthetic.

On the road this MG offers a fantastic experience. Dropping the roof down, and opening the throttle, the engine pulls strongly throughout the rev range holding great oil pressure. While switching through the gears you feel the gearbox is very fit and correct, the B slips into overdrive seamlessly. Under braking, the reassurance from the disc brakes is superb. The steering is sharp and direct throughout corners making for an all-round brilliant reason to get out and drive this car.

Having covered only 2,000 miles throughout the recent long-term ownership, the MG B is ready for a new owner to thoroughly enjoy the open roads in this good value entry level MGB Roadster. It's far from perfect, but a really good, strong car.
