The Mercedes-Benz 280 SEL, part of the W108 range, perfectly reflects the marque's late-1960s reputation for engineering quality, comfort and understated style. Powered by a smooth 2.8 litre straight-six, these cars offered refined performance and superb ride quality, making them a favourite among executives and dignitaries of the period. Right hand drive examples are relatively rare, with many originally supplied to markets such as Australia, adding further appeal to surviving cars today.
