Factory coachwork
In the early 30s, Lagonda built a few 4.5 Litre prototypes. Our car with the registration APJ 367 was, according to the automobile historian Bernd Holthusen, the only of those cars with a T6 coachwork.
The Lagonda was presumably supplied new to the racing driver Lord de Clifford. It was later registered by the Metropolitan Police of London. In 1958, the car was found in America, where it had 4 individual owners.
The current, German, owner bought the car back in 1979 from Coys of Kensington.
In the following years, he repainted the car in black and revised the engine very extensively.
The owner used the car also for grand tours. In 1985, he successfully participated in the Rallye Philpa on Corfu. He travelled there on own wheels. In 2013, he drove the Lagonda to the Lago Maggiore.
The car was continuously maintained, in the last years it got a new, improved, clutch from LMB, the petrol tank and the carburettors were revised.
