1990 | Citroën CX Loadrunner Pijpops

One feature of the Citroën CX Break, as the estate version of this model was called, was that it could be used as an ambulance and other special vehicles without modification due to its length. Consequently, there was the idea of building a ‘fast delivery van’ with an extended body. Three specialised companies took up the challenge: Tissier in France, Pijpops in Belgium and Mike’s Garage in Germany. The double axle at the rear allowed a payload of 760 kg.

Our Citroën CX Loadrunner, built by Pijpops, was used as a cargo freighter by the Globe Couriers haulage company for the overnight delivery of freshly printed newspapers. The vintage vehicle has been with the 2nd owner since 1994 and was temporarily decommissioned from 2000. The technology was then overhauled and the odd van was used as an advertising medium. This is an opportunity to use a stylish, extremely rare classic for a variety of purposes.
