The 1956 Aston Martin DB2/4 MK2 DHC (Drophead Coupé) was a left-hand drive model, one of just 34 made, with coachwork by Tickford. It represents a 1956 model year, which is a part of the "Mark II" series that saw technical improvements over the "Mark I," including elegant changes to the car's design. These cars were highly sought after by collectors due to their performance and style. The graceful lines, subtile curves and distinctive grille clearly demonstrate why this Aston Martin was considered on of the most prestigious British sports cars of its time.

This stunning DB2/4 MK2 was new delivered in the UK in 1956. The car stayed for many years on the other side of the Channel and landed at about 30-35 years ago in the Netherlands were it was in hands of two careful owners, Mr J. and its actual owner, our customer. In the period the car stayed with Mr J., it was subject of an exceptionally meticulous and extensive nut and bolt restoration, with absolutely no compromise on originality or quality. The paintwork has been applied with the utmost precision, demonstrating craftsmanship on the highest order.

Every detail is perfect: the chrome accents are perfectly polished, and so are the bumpers. The bodywork exhibits a consistency of fit and panel lines found only in exceptionally restored examples.

The interior is equally impressive. The seats, upholstered in beautiful red leather, have been reupholstered with the highest quality materials and offer luxurious, comfortable seating. The dashboard and door panels exude style and authenticity, while the carpets and details are in perfect harmony with the rest of the interior.

Under the hood lies a powerful six-cylinder engine, completely overhauled 3000 km ago by Van Giersbergen in the Netherlands. It delivers impressive performance for its time and runs exceptionally smooth.

Thanks to the excellent refurbishment work, this Aston Martin offers an rarely experienced driving experience: the gear changes are effortless, the engine is responsive, and the car glides smoothly over the road. We're impressed by how well a car from 1956 can handle. With its sublime handling and balanced chassis, this isn't just a car to admire. It's a car to truly enjoy on long drives through rolling countryside or along prestigious boulevards.

A rare opportunity to own one of the most elegant and exclusive Aston Martins ever produced – in a condition that is truly unparalleled.
