The car we present is a Daimler 2.5 V8 Saloon delivered new to Como in 1965 and entirely restored by the current owner about 10 years ago without sparing any expense: total repainting, re-chroming of all decorations and components, new rims, restoration of the interior woodwork by English specialists, interior entirely overhauled in leather, 16" Motolita steering wheel (in addition to the original 17"), automatic gearbox renewed and completely revised mechanics.
The car is presented in the classic Opalescent Dark Blue combined with blue full leather interior.
The Daimler 2.5 V8 was the first Daimler based on a Jaguar monocoque and the last to mount an engine produced by the small British company, acquired by Jaguar in 1960. Characterized by external and internal higher quality finishes than the derivative Jaguar Mk2 , the car also had a greater ride comfort thanks to the doughy V-8 engine, lighter and more compact than the Jaguar 6-cylinder, combined with the Borg-Warner automatic gearbox. The V8 with its 142 horsepower, spendable in absolute souplesse, pushes the car up to 180 km/h.
Square license plate with province (Vercelli) from 1967 and original italian title ("Libretto"). Following the first owner, the car has had an owner for almost 40 years with two short passages and the current one starting in 2009.
