A completely restored "Bertone" - Italian refinement meets Munich power
The BMW 3200 CS was first presented as a coupé concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in 1961 and was produced from 1962 to 1965 in close collaboration with the Italian coachbuilder Bertone. Giorgetto Giugiaro, in his early years at Bertone, gave the model a flowing silhouette with gently sloping rear fenders and an elegant wedge shape – only around 600 examples were produced in this exceptional series.
This particular example was first registered in Bavaria in 1964, completely restored a few years ago, and comes to us from a long-standing collector's collection. The body and mechanics are in excellent overall condition, authentically reflecting the rare combination of German engineering and Italian design.
Inside, you are greeted by blue leather on the seats and door panels, combined with classic round instruments and the characteristic wood trim on the dashboard. The spacious coupé design offers seating for five and exudes the elegant flair of the early 1960s.
Under the hood lies the refined 3.2-liter V8 engine, producing 160 hp and effortlessly propelling the 3200 CS to a top speed of 200 km/h. A finely tuned chassis, precise steering, and the sonorous V8 soundtrack combine to create an unparalleled driving experience.
