Description

1956 Austin Healey 100 BN2 Lemans with Weslake head.
Chassis number:
Registration number: WNK551
This very late production car was fitted from new with the Le Mans kit as attested to by the under bonnet factory plaque. Thus it comes with the larger carburettors, cold air box, bonnet louvres, leather bonnet straps etc. Moreover the very rare & desriable Weslake cylinder head is installed on this car making it a serious perfomance machine way ahead of the standard big healeys. The car sits on four immaculate chrome wire wheels with knock off spinners shod with 4 little used tyres.
The car was imported three decades ago from California & fully restored in its original two tone colour scheme of Old English White with Black to the sides. To the interior is black leather in perfect condition piped in cream. The car comes with a hood & slot in side screens in additon to a black tonneau cover. Being a BN2 it has the four speed gear box with overdrive on third & fourth gears. The car was fully restored some years ago by an elderly gentlemen & then saw little use until his passing at which time it was laid up. The bodywork is simply immacualte looking the same underneath as it does on top. No corrosiaon whatsoever is apparent.
In the last two months the car has had a full service & recommissioning costing over £5,000 by Healey guru & specialist Warren Kennedy. This included a full strip down of the brakes & a new fuel tank. It is thus on the button & ready to go. A service manual is in the paperwork & also an owners manual. This car is of course eligible as Mille Miglia contender & is fully restored in close to concours condition.
