A rare single perfectly original and perfectly running
Yamaha SRX 600 is a very distinctive model, appreciated only by experienced motorcyclists: only those familiar with large single-cylinder engines can understand the riding pleasure they provide, especially on Alpine roads.
This motorcycle was first registered in Padua on 10 February 1989, and was then purchased by its second and current owner on 5 July 2004.
It is a very rare model, especially in Italy, where it is estimated that only 120 examples were sold. It was not fully appreciated because of its unconventional combination of a sporty chassis and a single-cylinder engine inherited from the XT model, and above all because it lacks an electric starter: a motorcycle for the truly committed.
The current second owner is selling it because he has now reached an age at which he feels it is prudent to stop riding.
As far as I know, the motorcycle has never been involved in an accident since 2004 and has been very carefully stored, always kept in a garage.
The motorcycle is completely original. The indicators currently fitted are aftermarket units, but the four original indicators are also included.
Frame: 1XL-000986, stamped on the steering rod.
The mechanics are in excellent condition, with no modifications to the factory configuration. The bike has been regularly serviced by the same trusted specialist mechanic, who rebuilt the engine approximately 35,000 km ago, in 2008. The following work has also been carried out: clutch replacement; chain, sprocket and rear sprocket replacement in 2019; primary-chain tensioner replacement in 2024.
The seat covering has a few small areas where the stitching has come undone, and the fuel-tank paint shows a small area of wear beneath the seat.
The vehicle is registered with ASI (Italian historic official register) and comes with a CRS certificate.
Yamaha SRX 600, è un modello molto particolare, apprezzabile solo da motociclisti esperti: solo chi conosce i grossi monocilindrici conosce il piacere di guida che sanno dare, specialmente su percorsi alpini.
Questa moto è stata inizialmente immatricolata a Padova il 10/02/1989, poi comprata dal secondo e attuale proprietario il 5/07/2004.
E’ un modello molto raro, specialmente in Italia dove si stima siano stati venduti 120 esemplari, dove non è stata capita per l’originalità di assetto sportivo e motore monocilindrico (ereditato dal modello XT) e soprattutto per l’assenza di avviamento elettrico: una moto da duri e puri. L’attuale secondo proprietario la pone in vendita per ormai raggiunti limiti prudenziali di età.

Si tratta di una moto mai incidentata (per quanto io so dal 2004) e conservata con molta cura, sempre in box.
L’esemplare è perfettamente originale, le frecce montate sono aftermarket ma consegno anche le 4 originali.
La meccanica in ottime condizioni, nessuna modifica alla configurazione di fabbrica, regolarmente manutenuta presso lo stesso meccanico, specializzato e di massima fiducia, che ne ha rifatto il motore circa 35000 km fa nel 2008), eseguendo inoltre i seguenti lavori: frizione, corona-catena-pignone (nel 2019), tendicatena primaria (nel 2024).
Il rivestimento della sella ha piccoli punti di scucitura, la verniciatura del serbatoio mostra una piccola parte di usura sotto la sella.
Veicolo iscritto ASI con certificato CRS.
