2003 Porsche 911/996 Turbo GT2 Evocation
The Porsche 911 (996) Turbo marked a significant step forward for the 911, introducing water-cooling and, in Turbo form, the legendary Mezger-derived engine. With four-wheel drive, everyday usability and immense performance, the 996 Turbo has become one of the most usable and robust modern classics, offering supercar pace with renowned durability.
This example is a standout, having been in current enthusiast ownership since 2009 and maintained entirely regardless of cost. A substantial proportion of the work has been entrusted to respected specialists Paragon Porsche and Project Nine Engineering, with an extensive history file documenting continuous and meticulous upkeep. The level of maintenance is exceptional. Major works include an engine-out investigation and intake manifold replacement in 2025, a recent clutch and flywheel, refurbished turbochargers, replacement intercoolers and extensive cooling system work. Suspension, braking and steering components have been renewed as required over the years, while more recent attention has included steering system work, air-conditioning refurbishment and various interior improvements.
The car also benefits from a number of well-judged upgrades, including GT2-inspired touches such as a front splitter and fixed rear spoiler, badging and carbon bucket seats, along with a half roll cage and a subtle Stage 1 remap, enhancing the already formidable performance without compromising usability. Despite its mileage, the condition is outstanding and entirely at odds with the odometer, presenting more like a car with a quarter of the distance covered. On the road, it delivers the immense pace and secure handling the 996 Turbo is known for, paired with the added engagement of the highly desirable manual gearbox.
Reluctantly offered after 17 years of ownership, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a superbly maintained and carefully developed example. With an attractive estimate and a history file which is second to none, it represents an accessible and reassuring route into 911 Turbo ownership. Supplied to auction with the aforementioned history file and an MoT test certificate valid until March 2027. Consigned by Fraser Smith
