Mercedes-Benz 230 SL (W113), year 1964. Chassis number (VIN) 11304210007100. Silver metallic body color combined with a grey leather interior and grey carpeting. Black mohair soft-top and hard-top in body color. The 230 SL was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963 and features a modern, sleek, and almost architectural design for its time, designed by Paul Bracq and Béla Barényi. This beautiful and fairly early example was sold new in Europe. The car was restored in the past and has been beautifully maintained since then.
The bodywork and paint are beautiful and sleek, the chrome parts are excellent, and the interior is very pristine, with the dashboard displaying beautiful original details. This 230 SL is in very good condition and drives perfectly. The 150 hp inline six-cylinder engine runs smoothly and performs excellently. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox (!); a fantastic modification! The Mercedes-Benz W113 series (230, 250, and 280 SL) is also known as the 'Pagoda' due to the shape of the removable hardtop, which curves slightly upwards at the edges and has a gentle slope in the middle.
This fine 230 SL is fitted with beautiful Mercedes 'Baroque' alloy wheels (known in the Netherlands as 'bottle cap' wheels), which were available on the SL from 1969. Furthermore, the car is equipped with extra Hella spotlights and a 'modern' Becker Mexico BE7910 radio with navigation. These units were sold from 1999 to the early 2000s and are now highly sought after due to their classic appearance and excellent Becker sound. The car comes with the original hardtop, a wind deflector that can be mounted behind the seats, and documentation. This is a fantastic 230 SL, in very good condition, for the Mercedes-Benz enthusiast!
