Exterior: While this car may appear black in most of these photographs, it is actually finished in a stunning dark blue. In direct sunlight, it leans closer to black, while the deep blue tones become much easier to detect in the shade.
The car recently underwent an extensive, top-tier restoration featuring fresh paint and flawless new chrome. All rubber seals and details were replaced during the reassembly. It boasts excellent, uniform panel gaps, and the chrome wire wheels sparkle beautifully, complete with center lock nuts that are fully road-legal for the German market. Underneath, every single component has been stripped from the chassis, sandblasted, painted, and reinstalled with brand-new bushings and joints. It is a truly stunning vehicle!
Interior: The interior features completely new gray leather, alongside new carpets and a fresh headliner. The dashboard and instruments are all in good condition, framing a gorgeous, adjustable wood steering wheel. It is a proper Grand Touring car for two, offering perfect luggage space in the back. The entire car was fitted with sound insulation underneath the carpets to make it feel more solid and quiet, and it includes a working, period-correct radio. Being a 1965 Jaguar E-Type also means you benefit from the improved factory seats, providing much more room for taller drivers.
Mechanical: The 4.2-liter straight-six has been compression-tested with good results. New gaskets were fitted all around, and it was cosmetically restored. The gearbox received a full rebuild and was fitted with a new clutch. The driving experience is great; the car feels very powerful, shifting is smooth, and it runs nice and steady on the road thanks to those brand-new Michelin tires.
History: The 1965 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe offered here was sold new by Henlys in London on the 4th of May 1965, and it retains its matching-numbers engine. In 1978, a gentleman from Wiesbaden, Germany, purchased the car and owned it until recently. The restoration work was completed in 2026, and since then, the car has been driven only for testing. Today, the car still comes with its German documents.
