Bentley Speed 8 door Racing Green Engineering, chassis built in 1948. Chassis number: B186DA, engine number: 20103. Colour black combined with a black leather interior trimmed with black carpet. Black hood, hood cover, and tonneau cover. This fantastic Bentley Speed 8 Special was built by the renowned company Racing Green Engineering (RGE) in Wales, United Kingdom. The Bentley is based on a fully restored and rebuilt 1948 Bentley MK VI chassis, fitted with a completely overhauled B81 6500cc inline eight-cylinder engine. Construction was completed in 2012. The aluminum bodywork has been masterfully handcrafted by RGE's skilled craftsmen to the highest possible standards of perfection. The Vanden Plas-style open tourer bodywork (as used in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans!) is built according to the Weyman "flexible body" principle and covered in vinyl.
This type of bodywork is sound-dampening, rattle-free, and completely silent. The combination of the robust and reliable post-war Bentley MK VI chassis with a fully synchronized four-speed gearbox, hydraulic drum brakes all round, the powerful 6,5-liter engine, construction to high modern quality standards and the Le Mans-like design of pre-war design makes this Bentley Speed 8 a car that offers the best of both worlds. Modern ease of use, better driving characteristics, more comfort and great reliability, combined with the most appealing vintage look! This Speed 8 is equipped with almost all Racing Green Engineering-options, and the gear lever is located outside the bodywork. This impressive machine has been meticulously maintained by a specialist; the car is in sublime condition. The car shows only minor signs of wear. This beautiful Bentley is equipped with 21-inch wire wheels with 6.75-7.00 Blockley tires.
The bucket seats are ideally positioned, ensuring ample legroom for even taller drivers and passengers. The driving experience in this magnificent Bentley is fantastic and impressive.
