Austin Healey 3000 Mk III phase 2, year 1965. Chassis (VIN) number BJ8L28289, engine number 298K-RU-H2882. Dark British Racing Green exterior colour combined with a black leatherette interior trimmed with silver piping and black carpet. Light brown (tan) soft top and mohair tonneau cover.

This marvellous “Big Healey” was imported to the Netherlands in 2010. The automobile was extensively restored and has been cherished by the last owner since 2013. The Austin Healey 3000 Mk III phase 2 is the final and most sought after “Big Healey” model because of the upgrades it has received over the previous models. Like the Mk IIA the Mk III features convenient ‘roll-up’ windows, and an easy to operate convertible top. Above that the Mk III features improved rear suspension, and a more luxurious interior with a newly styled wood dashboard.

This example was given a more purposeful look by deleting the chrome bumpers, and adding small bumperettes at the rear, and cooling louvers in the bonnet and in the wings. This Austin Healey looks a picture, and it drives perfectly. The addictive six-cylinder exhaust note grumbles its way out via a side exhaust. The chrome wire wheels shod with Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres stand out brilliantly to the dark green paint.

This wonderful Austin Healey was punctually and professionally serviced. The car comes with (service) invoices, photos of the restoration, and a Heritage certificate that states that the engine is factory original to the chassis. This is a stunningly beautiful example in the best colours. A magnificent driving machine for the British sports car enthusiast and the Austin Healey fan!
