Description

Registered initially to British Leyland, Sales devision on the 28th Nov 1969 the car, a RHD Export example, was sold almost immediately to its first keeper, Mr Richard Philip Wall of New College Oxford and is finished in her original British Racing Green, with black leather interior, black hood and came with wire wheels, heater and tonneau cover as all confirmed on her accompanying British Motor Heritage certificate.

Early history of the car shows that Mr Wall travelled between the UK and France for the first 2 years before the car then settled in the UK, being looked after by the famous MG dealership, University Motors. The hugely comprehensive history file, containing the original Passport to Service, previous registration documents, Owners Manual and chronological display of invoices and MOTs, the latter dating all the way back to 1973!

Subject to an older restoration, back in the mid 90’s, the Roadster remains in lovely condition, the BRG paintwork polishes nicely and the chrome work remains bright, she's a great useable example that can be enjoyed as is, or in time improved further. As per her original specification she looks great on her wire wheels (fitted with Goodyear Grand Prix tyres with 5mm+ tread) and although the top looks great while up (fitted new in 2014), we have to say she looks even better with the top tucked away and the tonneau (both 1/2 and full) in place, showing her classic lines.

The wonderful original feel extends to the interior too. Open the door and you're meet her original 3 spoked steering wheel, the black leather seats look fabulous, very lightly patinated and in recent years she’s been treated to new carpets, which has also been extended to the boot area too.

Mechanically the Roadster remains in fine fettle. The ‘B’ engine sounds great and she drives nicely, the previous owners having had the car maintained  by Summit Motors and other MG / Classic Car specialists, the rafts of invoices testament to a nicely cherished classic.

A lovely example; previously well restored and with one of the most comprehensive history files we’ve seen we feel this MGB Roadster presents an ideal opportunity to own a great useable early, aluminium bonnet, model, and priced competitively too. She offers any classic enthusiasts a great way into classic MG ownership, allowing them to enjoy this quintessential British classic.
