2020 | Westfield Eleven Sports

Founded in 1982, Westfield Sportscars was created with the success and popularity of the original Lotus XI (Eleven) firmly in mind.

Westfields offering would be available as a finished car, however the majority were supplied as a self-build kit, allowing the owner to source and specify their own engine whilst assembling the car themselves. More often than not, this would be the BMC A-Series 1,275cc from an MG Midget or Austin-Healey Sprite donor.

The original Westfield XI would remain available until 1988. Production restarted in 2004, still utilising the A-Series engine, and small productions run continue today in limited numbers.

Hilton & Moss are pleased to present this wonderful example, first delivered in 2020 to its one and only owner, who as a keen Lotus collector, enthusiast and racer bought the car pre-assembled.

The car was subject to SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) testing by Westfield themselves, ensuring the car complied with regulations for use on UK roads. The car passed and certification was issued in June 2020. Shortly after, the car was granted UK registration status and a registration number assigned.

Finished in the timeless British Racing Green, the car features a very subtle livery inspired by the 1956 Le Mans works team entry, consisting of singular golden side strakes broken up by Team Lotus text. Three prominent roundels featuring the number 55 complete the aesthetics. The lower side panels present in bare aluminium, with the nearside acting as a heat shield for the side exit exhaust. Multi-spoke chrome wire wheels are housed within the bodywork completing the car’s sleek looks.

The interior provides a wonderful contrast, with a deep red leather trim and full carpet set. The slim steering wheel is trimmed in the same leather, with a white contrast stitch. The interior remains simple and features a basic gauge set and the switches required for the exterior lighting and equipment. A full tonneau is also supplied.

Under the single piece front clam is the 1,275cc A-Series engine, presenting in very good condition and paired to a single Weber 45 DCOE carburettor. Having covered just 45 miles since its build, this Westfield has been inspected and prepared for sale by the Hilton & Moss team, including a refresh of the carburettor and new spark plugs fitted. As such, the car remains in an ‘as-new’ condition and is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
