I am selling my Passat B1 from June 1974.
A 52-year-old Passat classic—very rare and beautiful.
I am offering my pre-owned and well-maintained
VW Passat L from 1974.
This represents the first model year featuring the forced-air ventilation vents in the C-pillars and the fuse box located in the engine compartment.
The color is called "Moss Metallic"—a shade that was available exclusively during the 1974 model year on the Passat and the VW 1303 Beetle.
The Passat has had only one registered owner and has been driven on my "07" collector's license plates for the past 17 years.
Original mileage. Matching numbers for the engine, transmission, and bodywork. Prior to delivery, the vehicle received a cavity sealing treatment from a VW dealership.
Included are a VW "birth certificate" (factory data sheet), as well as extensive literature and spare parts—including a front right fender, exhaust system, rear valance panel, and much more.
The original steel wheels—stamped with the year "1974"—are also still available. The alloy wheels currently fitted were added later (sandblasted and powder-coated), though they were originally available as an optional accessory within the VW product range at the time.
Original VW roof rack complete with luggage cases.
Additional equipment includes, for example, the Chrome Package, "Relax" reclining seats, a radio, a tow hitch, alloy wheels, original floor mats, and much more.
The condition is very good for an unrestored vehicle that is 52 years old. There is some minor surface rust on the wheel arches, and the right side of the vehicle—specifically the front fender—shows some scratches and paint abrasions. A replacement fender is included with the sale. Overall, the paintwork is in excellent, original condition.
The bodywork is structurally sound and free of patches; no welding work is required.
The timing belt, water pump, electronic ignition points, fuel pump, engine oil, and brake fluid have all been replaced or renewed. The vehicle has always been kept in roadworthy condition and has covered approximately 8,100 km while in my possession.
Viewings are available by appointment. Test drives are permitted only in dry weather. If you require additional photos to assist with your decision, please feel free to get in touch.
The price is negotiable. I am open to realistic offers.
