The 930 Turbo

The Porsche 930 Turbo needs little introduction. With its wide bodywork, prominent rear spoiler and turbocharged flat-six, it became one of the defining performance cars of its era. The 3.3-litre version, introduced for 1978, added an intercooler and increased power to 300 hp, while retaining the demanding, unmistakable character that made the 930 a legend.

This 930 Turbo

Completed at Porsche’s Zuffenhausen factory in 1982, this 930 was delivered new in Germany. Its original specification is particularly attractive, combining Pacific Blue Metallic with a blue leather interior. Factory equipment includes headlamp washers, a rear wiper, tinted glass, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable seats and a sunroof. It was also specified with a limited-slip differential and luxury velour carpeting in the luggage compartment.

The car arrived in France around 1996 and has remained there ever since. Its history is supported by a substantial file of service records and invoices dating back to 1998, offering a useful record of its maintenance over more than two decades.

The body was repainted around 2021 as part of a partial restoration. The finish presents with an even, deep shine, and the car retains several important original details. The factory seams, wheel-arch areas, luggage compartment and engine bay show a convincing original appearance, including period-correct paint texture. The original paint and option sticker remains visible in the luggage compartment. Based on our inspection, the other panels appear original, with no obvious evidence of accident damage or replacement panels.

Mechanically, the engine was rebuilt around 2005, at approximately 115,000 km. The work included new pistons and cylinders, upgraded Dilavar head studs, and a rebuilt turbocharger and wastegate. The car is also fitted with a stainless-steel exhaust. It starts readily and runs strongly, with good oil pressure. The gearbox was rebuilt in 2025 and now shifts quickly and smoothly.

The interior has been restored and remains in very good condition, showing only slight signs of use. In the front luggage compartment, an aftermarket thick-pile carpet and a strut brace are fitted. The original Fuchs Turbo wheels are equipped with recent tyres, while the original spare wheel and factory toolkit remain with the car.

The accompanying documentation includes the extensive service file, owner’s manual, original spare wheel and toolkit. The car has French registration and was recently inspected.

With its attractive Pacific Blue Metallic over blue leather specification, well-documented maintenance, rebuilt engine and recently rebuilt gearbox, this 930 offers a compelling combination of period character and carefully attended-to mechanicals. It is an appealing example for an enthusiast looking to enjoy one of Porsche’s most iconic turbocharged models.

The car is currently French-registered and is offered for sale on behalf of a client.
