HISTORY/DOCUMENTATION
The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet (997.2 generation) is already a classic: a modern classic that offers the perfect balance between everyday practicality, pure driving pleasure and exclusivity. This model is one of the last generations of the 911 to feature a naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine and a manual gearbox – characteristics that are increasingly prized by enthusiasts. At the rear lies the familiar 3.8-litre Mezger-inspired flat-six with an output of 408 pk, which drives the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Thanks to the wider bodywork (widebody), the sportier set-up and systems such as Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the GTS has a strikingly dynamic character. Of the just 1,813 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolets produced worldwide, it is estimated that only around 540 to 550 were delivered with the sought-after six-speed manual gearbox. This makes this particular car one of the rarest variants of the 997.2 generation. This car was delivered new in Germany in 2011 and now stands out for its exceptionally low mileage of just 9,248 kilometres. The car has been maintained with great care and is in excellent condition. It comes with a particularly comprehensive set of documents. In addition to the original, fully completed service booklet, the original purchase invoice and the original order details have also been preserved. These documents provide a complete insight into the car’s provenance, configuration and history. We imported the Porsche from Austria in 2026.
EXTERIOR
The Carrera GTS immediately stands out from the standard Carrera models thanks to its wider Carrera 4 body, which does not feature four-wheel drive. This so-called ‘widebody’ gives the car a more powerful and muscular appearance, whilst fully retaining its rear-wheel-drive character.
The elegant Aqua Blue Metallic paintwork complements the black soft top beautifully and accentuates the timeless lines of the 997 generation. Specific GTS details, including the black finish on various exterior elements, give the car a sporty and exclusive look. The distinctive 19-inch RS Spyder wheels with central wheel nuts – a detail derived directly from Porsche’s motorsport programme – are among the GTS’s most beloved features. These wheels are free from damage. Furthermore, the car is equipped with dynamic cornering lights, ensuring both its appearance and functionality are of the highest standard. A ceramic wax coating has been applied, and the car has been stored in a dry storage facility for an extended period.
INTERIOR
The interior is finished in black leather, combined with Alcantara, a material that not only offers a sporty look but also provides extra grip during dynamic driving. The high-quality finish and ergonomic controls reflect the quality for which Porsche is renowned.
The heated sports seats offer great comfort on long journeys whilst providing excellent lateral support. Thanks to the Bose audio system, the sound experience remains of a high standard even when the soft top is open. Due to the very low mileage, the interior is in an exceptionally well-maintained condition, with its original appearance almost entirely preserved.
TECHNICAL
At the rear lies the naturally aspirated 3.8-litre six-cylinder boxer engine with direct petrol injection, delivering 408 pk. The engine is renowned for its immediate throttle response, distinctive sound and linear power delivery – characteristics that are particularly prized by Porsche enthusiasts. The engine is often described as Mezger-inspired due to its motorsport DNA, although technically speaking it is the further-developed DFI boxer engine. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, ensuring an extremely engaging driving experience. Combined with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the sports exhaust and the chassis set-up developed specifically for the GTS, this delivers a perfect balance between everyday comfort and sporty performance. The 997.2 generation is also renowned as a significant technical step forward within the 997 series, thanks in part to the introduction of the modern DFI engines, which have definitively made previous issues such as the IMS bearing a thing of the past. This particular car has been well maintained. The last service was carried out by Porsche in May 2025 at 8,553 km.
GENERAL
The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet (997.2) is one of the most sought-after variants of the 997 generation and is now regarded as a modern classic. This model strikes the perfect balance between everyday practicality, pure driving pleasure and exclusivity. The GTS was introduced towards the end of the 997’s life cycle as a sportier and more lavishly equipped variant of the Carrera S, combining many popular options as standard with a distinctive appearance. For enthusiasts, the 997.2 GTS is particularly special as it is one of the last naturally aspirated 911 models to be available with a six-speed manual gearbox. At a time when turbocharged engines and automatic transmissions have become the norm, appreciation for this version is only growing.
This example, built in 2011, is in exceptional condition and has an exceptionally low mileage of just 9,248 kilometres. The presence of the original purchase invoice, order details and the fully completed service booklet underline the car’s authenticity and the care with which it has been maintained over the years. Thanks to the combination of the naturally aspirated engine, manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, the wide GTS body, the exceptionally low mileage and the complete history, this Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet is undoubtedly one of the most attractive and collectable modern 911 models currently available.
