Description

**Built to Drive.
**Chassis approx. 260,000 km since 1974.
Replacement engine installed approx. 10 years ago, only run approx. 50,000 km since then. Mileage and history fully documented.

This is not a museum piece – it’s a Porsche built to be driven. A rare 911 2.7 from 1973 (model year 1974), one of the very first G-models with classic chrome trim. Most of its kind have rusted away by now – not this one. This car has been well maintained, thoughtfully upgraded, and driven regularly. If you enjoy thumbs up, spontaneous compliments, and conversations with strangers at gas stations – this is your kind of car.

History & Provenance

Originally delivered in Germany in 1973, it was soon exported to the USA where it had three owners. It later came to Switzerland, where I purchased it from a private collector. I’ve owned it for nine years. Full documentation is available, including the **original purchase contract **from February 1974 and all service records from previous owners. Thanks to the small “D” noted in the original German title, EU registration is straightforward and legally possible.

Engine & Performance

Currently fitted with a 2.7s engine delivering 175 hp – but it feels far more powerful than the numbers suggest. The engine was installed in 2014, has a mileage of approx. 50,000 km since then and was partially overhauled in 2020 with:

  • Hydraulic chain tensioners
  • Electronic ignition system
  • Danske sports exhaust, new headers
  • New fuel distributor
  • Bilstein suspension (yellow)
  • New ignition wires and battery
  • New performance starter
  • New air filter box with plop valve
  • K&N performance air filter

Emission test values (April 3, 2025):
CO: 3.54 / CO₂: 12.3 / HC: 82
Performs better than many cars with a catalytic converter.

Chassis & Bodywork

  • Lowered approx. 28–30 mm
  • Sportier alignment setup with turbo tie rods
  • New front and rear wheel bearings
  • Rocker panels and B-pillars restored and zinc-coated
  • New master brake cylinder and pads
  • Last full service: 02/2025 at P Performance with replacement of some oil pipes

Modifications & Style
I built this car to reflect my vision: classic elegance with just enough performance to take on any mountain pass without compromising comfort.
It’s not about showing off – it’s about balance, style, and connection to the road.

  • BF Torino Rally ST seats in Pepita fabric
  • RS-style door panels, pull straps, rear carpet (no rear seats)
  • Momo Protipo steering wheel with custom embossed leather horn button
  • Exposed gear shifter with rare Carbotylene knob (1 of 2 in the world and worth alone CHF 2`000)
  • Black headliner & sun visors
  • Sports pedals
  • Front strut brace in the trunk
  • A/C system removed (–70 kg), curb weight with full tank approx. 1,070 kg
  • Side skirts removed and smoothed
  • Front bumper resprayed, no front spoiler
  • Custom diamond-pattern grille
  • Trim pieces (keder) replaced with slim rubber washers for cleaner look
  • Radio and speakers removed

Bottom line:
A refined, road-ready classic with style, substance, and a proper history. Built for those who drive – not just collect.
