HISTORY
A dream for every Porsche enthusiast: a 911. This particular model is also a Targa and one from a coveted model year. This model year is equipped with the more powerful 2.2-litre engine, but has the classic looks of the first generation (2.0-litre) 911 that was built until 1969. Porsche calls this model year the “D-program” and it offers the best of both worlds. Improvements have been made to this version, particularly at a technical level, making it a popular model. Classic looks, but also a delightful mile-eater with which you can easily traverse Europe. Cruising along the Côte d'Azur with the sun on your face is also possible thanks to the Targa roof. Like most, this example was delivered new in the sunny climate of the United States, which has kept it rust-free. In 2016, the car was imported to the Netherlands, where it was recently restored. Since then, the car has only driven 300 kilometres, making it feel like it is in new condition!

EXTERIOR
A sight to behold, as the beautiful paintwork of this 911 is barely dry and is finished in the colour “Light Yellow” (colour code 6262). The targa roof is the most sought-after version, thanks to the possibility of open-top driving without disturbing the car's beautiful roofline. Of course, the beautiful Fuchs rims are a must. This model still features the distinctive gold brand and type designation on the car. The windows are lightly tinted, which gives a more attractive look and reduces the amount of sunlight entering the car. Thanks to the restoration, the car is in very good visual condition. The paintwork, rubbers, windows, lighting and chromework are all in pristine condition.

INTERIOR
The interior has also been renewed and is therefore in very good condition. Inside the car, it even smells like new. The interior is finished in black with half-skai leather seats. The comfortable seats have headrests. There are two child seats in the back.

TECHNICAL
The 2.2-litre engine was a more powerful engine with more torque compared to the previous 2.0-litre engine. The 6-cylinder boxer engine delivers 125 hp. An example of an improvement in the D-programme model is the use of oil sprayers that cool the underside of the pistons. The manual “dog-leg” 5-speed gearbox was an option at the time, compared to the standard 4-speed gearbox. The underside of the car and under the bonnet are also in good condition. Four new Michelin tyres have been fitted. The car drives sportily and agilely, making it a joy to drive in the mountains.

GENERAL
The Porsche 911: probably the most famous and legendary sports car ever made. Introduced in 1963 as the successor to the 356 and still in production after more than 60 years: a continuous model that is constantly being developed and evolved in a style unlike any other car. The 911 is a relatively light and streamlined 2+2 rear-wheel drive car with the engine in the rear. The more powerful 2.2-litre 911 was built in 1970 and 1971 and was available as T, E and S with different power characteristics. Although the T was the entry-level model, this version is still considered sufficiently powerful and the best to drive for everyday use. The 2.2 generation was also focused on weight reduction, for example through the use of aluminium bumpers. Another major advantage is the anti-corrosion treatment that was supplied as standard ex-factory for a longer body life. The manual version was optionally available with 5 gears. During the production years, the model was continuously improved, with the most significant difference being an improved targa roof in the D programme. The changes related to the sealing of the roof against the windscreen, side windows and roll bar. The Targa was very popular in 1970, accounting for 31% of all 911s built that year.
