Description
Description
For sale is a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL “Pagoda” with automatic transmission in a particularly classic and elegant color combination. The bodywork is finished in dark green, Mercedes-Benz color code 268. Matching this, the SL also has a dark green fabric soft top. The interior is fitted with beige leather, creating a stylish contrast with the dark exterior color.
The Mercedes has been in the possession of its current owner for around 14 years. He acquired the vehicle from the previous owner already in its present condition and has treated and cared for it with great diligence and affection ever since.
At the end of the 1990s, the 280 SL was comprehensively restored and reconditioned. Particularly noteworthy is its condition today: although the restoration dates back around 30 years, the Pagoda still presents in very attractive condition. This is testament both to the quality of the work carried out at the time and to the careful use and good maintenance of the vehicle over the past decades.
The available documentation is also worthy of mention. All invoices since the restoration are present and document the work carried out and investments made over the years. In addition, the restoration was recorded in numerous analog photographs, meaning that the work carried out on the vehicle at the time can still be traced today.
The extensive history is complemented by an old original Mercedes-Benz cardboard card, which is also included with the vehicle documents.
Overall, this is a very appealingly preserved Mercedes-Benz 280 SL, distinguished by its classic color combination, long ownership history and, in particular, its extensive documentation. The condition of the vehicle shows that the restoration carried out around three decades ago was of good quality and that the Pagoda has been treated with corresponding care ever since.
