Description

The Mercedes-Benz 230SL, known as the ‘Pagoda’ for its distinctive concave hardtop, was a groundbreaking sports car from Mercedes-Benz that blended luxury, performance, style and timeless design.

The W113 attracted a new cult customer base, those who craved sports car performance but were unwilling to compromise on ride comfort and reliability.

Introduced in 1963 as the successor to the 190SL, the 230SL was powered by a 2.3L Inline-Six engine with Bosch mechanical fuel injection, producing 150hp and giving a more sporty and spirited drive compared to its predecessor. 0-100km/ h in 9 seconds and a top speed of around 200km/ h made the 230SL more than capable and continues to give owners lasting memories on the road. With disc brakes up front, it offers strong stopping power too.

Designed by Frenchman Paul Bracq, the ‘Pagoda’ factory hardtop added structural rigidity and a unique aesthetic, and the 230SL has remained one of the very few classic roadsters that look equally beautiful with its hardtop mounted.

Mechanically this pretty 230SL is on the button. It has been cherished and serviced regularly by its previous owner and used for casual driving in the summer months only.

The car was subject of a meticulous restoration process involving dismantling, repairing and replacement from parts, refinishing of body and interior to the highest standards. Engine, transmission and other mechanical systems were overhauled or restored to their original specifications.

This car is nothing but honest a perfect weekend driver that runs and drives great. Soft-top only. This handsome Pagoda is ready to be driven and enjoyed by its next loving caretaker.
