HISTORY/DOCUMENTATION
This Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye, with chassis number 818.330
*014558
*, was delivered new in Trieste (Italy) on 17 July 1968, as evidenced by the original dealer sticker on the rear window. The car remained in Trieste until as late as 2007, as it was sold there in that year to the first and current Dutch owner. In 2007, the car underwent a thorough overhaul, particularly in technical terms. Over the years, the owner has carefully maintained and driven the car. A full folder of documentation is available, including the car’s history, old photographs, photographs of servicing work and invoices. An English-language instruction manual is also included with the car.

EXTERIOR
The Lancia is finished in what we consider to be the most beautiful colour combination: the dark green ‘Verde Ostenda’ with a cognac-coloured interior. This model features aluminium doors, bonnet, boot lid and rear axle, which reduces its weight. The car’s lines are stunning and were designed by Lancia designer Piero Castagnero. Twin Carello headlights are fitted at the front. The steel wheels are fitted with hubcaps and Bridgestone tyres in good condition all round. The bodywork has good panel alignment, indicating a damage-free history. Visually, the car is in its original condition, meaning there are normal signs of wear on the paintwork, chrome and rubber trim.

INTERIOR
The interior is in its original condition and therefore shows signs of wear that require attention. The front seats are torn and weathered. The rear seat is weathered by the sun. The dashboard is partly finished in wood and is in good condition, as is the attractive steering wheel. A distinctive feature is the long gear lever. The interior is otherwise typically Italian: simple yet stylish, with a focus on the driver. There is a 12-volt socket and seatbelts have been fitted. The boot accommodates the spare wheel.

TECHNICAL
Under the bonnet lies the original 1,298 cc V4 engine producing 86 hp at 6,000 rpm. The gearbox was overhauled in the Netherlands. During this overhaul, the engine was removed from the car and the chassis and sills were also thoroughly addressed. No corners have been cut on the car over the years. In 2025, extensive maintenance was carried out (worth €3,550), including an overhaul of the brake calipers and hoses, an overhaul of the handbrake system, an overhaul of the brake cups and master cylinder, and the replacement of brake hoses, brake pads and the exhaust system. The exhaust system features a custom silencer for a beautiful sound. The car drives, changes gear and brakes well and is fully roadworthy for its next owner.

GENERAL
The Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye is an iconic Italian sports coupé renowned for its unique engineering and impressive rallying history. The model was part of Lancia’s Fulvia range and became a fixture in motorsport during the 1960s and 1970s.
What makes the Fulvia Coupé special is its compact V4 engine with an extremely narrow angle of just 12 to 13 degrees. This allowed the engine to be built small and low, contributing to excellent weight distribution and road holding. In the 1968 Rally version, this engine delivered lively performance despite its relatively modest displacement. Another striking feature is the front-wheel drive, which was unusual for sports cars at the time. This gave the Fulvia a significant advantage on twisty and slippery rally roads, as the car offered plenty of grip and stability, particularly under demanding conditions. The Fulvia Coupé gained worldwide fame in rallying. The absolute highlight came in 1972, when Lancia won the International Rally Championship for Manufacturers with the Fulvia – a precursor to the later World Rally Championship. This success made the car a legend amongst rally enthusiasts.

Interesting facts
• The bodywork was designed by Piero Castagnero and is known for its sleek, timeless lines.
• The Fulvia had four disc brakes, which was still quite advanced for a compact sports car at the time.
• Thanks to its low weight and sharp handling, the car still feels surprisingly modern to drive.

Today, the Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye is regarded as a true classic with a rich motorsport history. Its combination of innovative technology, elegant design and rally success makes it a much-loved car amongst collectors and enthusiasts of Italian cars.
