Description

On behalf of a client, we are selling this exceptional and rare classic with a true motorsport soul: the Fiat Dino Spider 135 AS.

This model combines timeless Italian design with a technical feature that made automotive history: the V6 engine developed by Ferrari. This gave Fiat access to genuine Ferrari technology.

The Fiat Dino was built to meet the FIA's homologation requirements for Ferrari's Formula 2 engine – thus, this model received a genuine Ferrari engine under its hood. The result is a high-revving, characterful V6 engine with an unmistakable sound.

Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, son of Enzo Ferrari, played a key role in the design of the original V6 that was later used in the Fiat Dino Spider. He worked together with engineer Vittorio Jano on this engine concept. The goal was a compact racing engine for Formula 2. The subsequent production version for the Fiat Dino was further developed and adapted after his death (1956). To meet the Formula 2 homologation requirement starting in 1967, Ferrari entered into an agreement with Fiat in 1965. Fiat produced this V6 in larger numbers and used it in the Fiat Dino.

The elegant, clean lines of the Fiat Dino Spider 135 AS's body were designed by Pininfarina. This design impresses with its harmonious proportions, delicate chrome details, and classic 1960s lines. The interior features sporty instrumentation.

The car we are offering was originally delivered to the USA, where its first owner from Europe discovered and purchased it in a dilapidated state on the Italian "car mile" in Los Angeles while he was studying there. After completing his studies and undertaking the initial, meticulous restoration work, the new owner took the Fiat Dino back to his hometown of Brixen in South Tyrol, Italy, where he finished the restoration.

In 2014, the car was brought to Germany, where the current owner noticed it at the Classic Days at Dyck Castle. That same year, the Dino received a complete engine overhaul and a new soft top.

The car's value has been consistently maintained through various repairs.

A rare Italian classic with character, sound, and history. The Fiat Dino Spyder 135 AS is not just a car—it's a statement.
