Description

For sale is a Citroën BX 19 TGD Break in a rare, honest original condition – a characterful youngtimer with a verifiable history and fresh technical refurbishment.

The vehicle was first registered in March 1991 by Citroën dealer Tomecek in Vienna (initially as a demonstrator) and shortly afterwards taken over by its first private owner, who kept it for over 22 years. The car was then stored and ultimately taken over by me and carefully brought back to life.

Today, the BX presents itself as a roadworthy classic with authentic patina and very good substance – deliberately not an over-restored vehicle, but an honest Citroën with history.

Technology & Condition

As part of the recommissioning, extensive work was carried out:

  • major engine service incl. timing belt & tensioner pulley
  • all filters and engine oil replaced
  • all belt drives renewed
  • coolant flushed and renewed
  • transmission oil changed
  • hydraulic system (LHM) flushed and refilled
  • leak lines partially renewed
  • rear suspension cylinder dust boot renewed
  • rear axle bump stops renewed
  • tailgate struts new
  • underbody cleaned and preserved

furthermore:

  • The hydropneumatic suspension works perfectly
  • The car is immediately ready to drive (“get in and drive off”)
  • current §57a inspection (Austria)

The 1.9 l XUD naturally aspirated diesel (64 PS) is considered robust and durable and runs cleanly and reliably.

Bodywork & Appearance

  • rust-free (to the best of my knowledge, unwelded)
  • underbody and wheel arches cleaned and partially preserved
  • in very good technical condition
  • original paint in “Rouge Furio” (EJX)
  • bumpers have been repainted
  • visible UV-related patina (typical of cars parked outdoors)

The paintwork has been refurbished several times – the red once again presents itself vividly, while the grey decorative stripes show age-related signs of use.

Overall: honest appearance with dignified patina
