The Austin-Healey 3000 came on the market in 1959 and production continued until 1967. The 3000 became the successor to its predecessor, the 100-6. However, the previous model had an engine with less displacement (2.6 litres) and less horsepower, this compared to the 3000 which featured a 3-litre engine. At the time, the Healey's were very successful in races and rallies. Take for example BMC team driver Pat Moss, sister of sir Stirling Moss. She finished 4th in the Liege-Rome-Liege Rally in Belgium in an Austin-Healey 100/6 and won the first of her five European Rally Championships for women. In 1960, Moss took overall victory at Liege-Rome-Liege in an Austin-Healey 3000 and finished 2nd in the Coupe des Alpes.

Our Healey is from Oct 1961 and was fully restored in 1994 by market specialist Kees Cardol in the Netherlands for a discerning collector/driver. It was delivered new in a Colorado Red (Colorado (Signal) Red: BMC code RD2, ICI code 3742), together with a black interior with red piping. Included with the Healey is a Heritage certificate showing that this particular Healey is Matching Numbers & Matching colours. Unique is the original Old english white hardtop, today an expensive accessory. The car participated in a large number of mild road rallies and was regularly on the podium. On the hardtop are numerous stickers from these rallies the Austin Healey participated in, such as;

1995 SLS Classic (3rd place)

1996: Tuliprallye

Recently, the car was completely rebuilt and repainted with incredible attention to detail in all areas. So that it is again ready for years of new adventures. The Healey is in possession of many interesting and nice extras, such as for example the roll bar behind the 2 front seats, vents in the front wings for extra cooling, sought-after and rare fog lights mounted on the front scrout, just like some works cars were fitted. New multi spoke Dunlop rims with Vredestijn Classic Sprint tyres. Underneath the car there is a sporty side-pipe that gives the Healey a powerful character and more ground clearance. The Overdrive is controllable on the back of the gear lever and by means of a button on the dashboard. Also practical for rallying, for example, is the Halda Twinmaster and the Brantz Tripmaster. Under the bonnet there is 123 electronic ignition, along with K&N air filters and 3 carburettors! When the Healey came to the Netherlands in 1994, you could see that it had had a damage-free past and that the bodywork had remained rust-free. You can see this in the perfect fits of doors, bonnet, boot lid and screens. Unique for a Healey!

It is in possession of an extensive folder full of history including the Heritage Certificate , FIVA Indentity Card, a photo report of the restoration, inspections and various invoices are present. All this shows that this Healey has been well taken care of! Finally, both a valuation report and a Dyno report are available.

A unique Austin Healey 3000 that can be used right away for new adventures!
