Description
Healey 3000 MK 1 - FIA Race Car, 1959
Chassis number: HBT 7 L 2855 Road legal, hardtop, left-hand drive
After a recent complete overhaul at Classic Line, partner for British vehicles of more than Euro 45.000, this former internationally successful racing Healey is in pole position.
Ready to compete!
To top it off it has Avon Competition tyres on its Minilite aluminium wheels with central locking. The car has been with its current owner for 20 years, who only drives it occasionally for touristic vintage car excursions/meetings.
The vehicle was professionally completely rebuilt in 1992 for racing and rally driving (photo documentation), whereby all technical possibilities were exploited or considered. The car was used extremely successfully at rallies and races, and is shown and described in many international publications.
This is the most successful and best known Healey on the European continent. The car was maintained and cared for professionally and meticulously the whole time, and received a complete overhaul after every season.
Vehicle registration documents and vehicle passport available.

Details: Complete aluminium body Aluminium cylinder head 3 Weber twin-barrel carburettors Straight-toothed racing gearbox (Tulip box) Enhanced overdrive Differential lock Disc brakes front and rear Balance beam brake system Racing seat: DTM - Kevlar bucket seat Stack – rev counter with storage function Racing chassis (suspension/shock absorbers) Matter roll cage
Accessories: 2 sets of spoke wheels, 2 auxiliary headlamps (Cibies)
**Vehicle **condition: The vehicle was restored completely and converted to a racing car. In the body, the hood, the boot lid, the middle sections, the fenders and the doors are of sheet aluminium. The side windows are in plastic for further weight reduction.
The interior equipment of the vehicle was reduced to the minimum required for racing. A pure racing shell was used for the driver, which is designed for six-point safety belts. A rally seat was installed for the co-driver, which is designed for four-point safety belts. A roll cage is installed to provide reinforcement and to protect the occupants from being injured in an accident. A Tripmaster as well as other auxiliary instruments and automatic cut-outs are installed for participation in rallies. The vehicle also has an intercom system for driver and co-driver.
The pedals in the vehicle are those of a pure racing car. Various brake cylinders are installed in parallel for the front and rear brake circuit, and equipped with an adjustable balance beam to adjust the brake balance. The original steering wheel was replaced by a three-spoke aluminium steering wheel with leather rim. This steering wheel has a smaller diameter than the serial steering wheel. The vehicle is equipped with Avon tyres, type HZ Radial with the dimension 185170 R 15 H. on Minilite aluminium wheels with central locking.
The axles were changed by using harder rubber sleeves and adapting the characteristics of the level-type shock absorber for racing. The vehicle was equipped front and rear with disc brakes from the manufacturer Gerling.
The serial fuel tank was replaced by a large racing tank with rapid-action lock. This racing tank is in conformance with the FIA regulations and is protected with a rubber jacket. The vehicle was equipped with 2 separate fuel pumps for racing purposes.
The engine of the vehicle was completely rebuilt and tuned. The serial cast iron cylinder head was replaced with an aluminium cylinder head. The pistons, combustion chambers and the carburettor system were changed accordingly. The carburettor system consists of 3 Weber twin-barrel carburettors, Type 45. There is a performance graph for the engine from the Victor Günther company. According to this, the engine has a top output of 159 kW at 5,600 RPM. The engine was equipped with an oil reservoir at the wheel arch on the right. This oil reservoir is made of aluminium. For better thermal security of the engine it was equipped with an especially made high-performance aluminium cooler and an additional oil cooler. The exhaust system was altered accordingly. The vehicle has a flame tube exhaust system side pipe. The original gearbox was largely preserved, but received special straight-toothed gears to reduce friction and the translation was adjusted accordingly.
The car has an FIA passport for historical racing cars. This passport is administrated by the ONS and bears the number H667/90. It contains the technical details with the corresponding dimensions. The vehicle owner has all the results of the racing events in which the car successfully participated. On the basis of these racing successes, you can say that this was probably one of the strongest and fastest racing cars in this model series. Despite frequent participation in racing events, the car is optically and technically in excellent condition. All of the details have been perfectly crafted. It only has some small signs of use, which suggests that anything that was ever damaged in a race was either immediately fully repaired or replaced.
