Description

Originally supplied by Brooklands of Bond Street, this exceptional Aston Martin DB4 Series One has been the subject of an in-depth restoration by TG Classics in Monchengladbach during 2013 and 2014 whilst in the hands of a previous owner in Germany. In its earlier life it was regularly serviced by Richard Stewart Williams whilst that company resided in the arches in London SW 9. In December 1970 it was acquired Via RSW by a Dr J.M. Nightingale, (possibly related to Florence) who purchased it for the princely sum of £950, the handwritten invoice for which remains on file. Also on file is a British Motor Heritage certificate which as well as confirming that the car retains its original engine and gearbox, mentions that it was previously registered as TG11.  Further confirmation of its originality is found on the original Build Sheet which also shows that it was serviced by the AM factory through to 1961. Perhaps most importantly is the presence of a detailed invoice from RSW dated March 2021 when it was submitted to them for a service and an assessment of its general condition and the rectification of any items found requiring attention, prior to a sale. Despite this invoice being five years old, the mileage covered since has been a mere 1,100 miles. The car runs perfectly and is both mechanically and cosmetically excellent and a joy to drive. The only deviation from standard has been the addition of a lovely set of Borrani alloy wire wheels which enhance this fine motor car. Whilst values of most classic cars have dropped in the past 5 years, it is cars like this in exceptional condition that are still sought by discerning collectors. Now very realistically priced at £395,000. An interesting part exchanged would be considered.
