1980 | Yamaha DT 250

This Yamaha is a rare classic, one of only 400 made specifically for the Danish Army in 1980. This motorcycle has been completely refurbished and is in very original condition. The exception is that I installed a 12-volt electrical system with electronic ignition made specifically for this model. The original 6-volt CD ignition and charging system will be included in the sale

Also the steel seat base was so badly corroded that it was not usable. I was unable to find a good original one, so I made a replacement from fiberglass using the original for a pattern. The original seat base will be included in the sale. The engine has been rebuilt with a new piston and connecting rod. It starts and runs very well and has the original oil injection system so normal fuel is in the tank and oil in a separate tank. All replacement parts were either original Yamaha parts or were fabricated to match.

The motorcycle was factory supplied with upgraded suspension, using that from the DT400
