2010 | Porsche 911 SC 3000 TARGA

The sixth generation of the Porsche 911 was dubbed the 997 and introduced in 2005. It retained the previous model's basic profile but drew on the 993 for detailing. In addition, the new headlights reverted to the original bug-eye design. The interior was similarly revised, with strong links to the earlier 911 interiors while at the same time looking fresh and modern. Initially, two versions of the 997 were introduced, the rear-wheel-drive Carrera and Carrera S. In late 2005, Porsche introduced the four-wheel drive versions of the 997, the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S which were announced as 2006 models. The 997 remains a worthy model of one of the most celebrated sportscars ever produced and also received a vast amount of positive reviews from the worldwide motoring press, with Jeremy Clarkson, a known detractor of Porsche cars, noting that the 997 will "make love to your fingertips and stir your soul”.

This fabulous Gen II 997 Targa 4 with desirable PDK gearbox was first registered on 23rd December 2010. A black on black example with Sports Chrono pack, this example was acquired in June 2022 by our vendors late husband after an exhaustive search for the perfect specification. Last serviced May 2024 which included the brake fluid change, this example has been comprehensively serviced as shown below. The generation II examples of the 997 hold none of the inherent engine issues found in the 996 and Gen I cars plus boast the updated and frankly very good seven speed PDK gearboxes. Starting on the turn of a key, this example has been garaged throughout its life and upon inspection we could not find a blemish. The targa roof retracts as it should and provides that cocooned open top motoring in the timeless 911 silhouette that the convertible cannot offer, closed you have a glass roof coupe with four seats, a real car for all occasions.
