What else do we need to explain about the MG B? Not much, right? The British roadster is one of the most famous and popular classic open two-seater cars, and for years it was almost the standard when you thought of a classic roadster. The beautifully lined B was presented in 1962 and symbolizes the affordable English classic roadster.

This is a new MGB Roadster delivered in the United States. The MGB was produced from 1962 to 1980 and this example is from the first period. Also called the MK1 version with the spoon door. The car was imported in 2004 and registered with a Dutch classic licence plate.
This B dates back and has been completely converted to Rally-Race specification and racing purposes.
For example, the body has been lowered, and the hood is made of aluminium and the front fenders and the boot lid are made of polyester. The side windows are made of plexiglass. In terms of chassis, heavier shock absorbers have been installed, and we see nylon bushings and a stabilizer. The ventilated front brake discs with V8 callipers and a separate master cylinder. The fuel tank is an ATL safety tank with a certificate, and the fuel supply is through coiled pipes in combination with a racing fuel pump and a fire extinguishing system.
In the same year, the car was converted as a racer for, among others, the MGB Competitions and HARC racing days. This MGB is painted in a yellow solid colour with white accents such as the hard top and spoiler. The engine is a rebored 1800cc to 1950cc 4-cylinder in-line engine with Weber 45 DCOE carburettor, a racing camshaft, stage 1 cylinder head, polished intake ports and a lightweight crankshaft and flywheel, a racing starter motor and aluminium radiator and now produces approximately 135 hp, which is linked to a manual 4 close ratio gearbox. A limited-slip differential was also added. And the cylinder head was recently overhauled. To complete the MGB, Cibie spotlights and a roll bar with a certificate were installed and the correct bucket seats with 4-point racing belts. Various advertising stickers were placed on the outside. And 14” Minilite rims were mounted. The MG also comes with 5 extra rims with racing tyres and 4 separate racing tyres.

The current owner has modified the car to be more user-friendly in normal traffic. An odometer and direction indicators have also been fitted for this purpose. The flywheel has also been replaced, so the engine runs much better at low speeds. The racing experience is fully present when driving. The bodywork and paintwork can be described as good and well cared for and the technology is well functioning, so a neatly maintained car with some signs of wear.

In short, a very attractive and very sporty MGB that you will enjoy driving both on public roads and on the circuit or when participating in a rally.
