The MG J2 Midget was the successor to the MG J1 Midget and was introduced in 1932. This small MG sports car stole the hearts of many sports car enthusiasts. Driving and handling the "Midget" was fantastic. The gear lever was mounted on the floor and the car was equipped with a four-speed gearbox. A very nice detail is that when you open the hood, the car opens halfway. In the lower part of the passenger compartment, you have a clear view of where the gearbox is located.
Sources stated that the British magazine Autocar clocked the J2 Midget's top speed at 82 miles per hour. Many owners tried to reach the same top speed, but never got to that speed. What later came to light was that the MG factory gave the Autocar test drivers a specially tuned version to achieve the 132 km/h result.

This copy was built in 1933 and delivered new to Miss. C.Whittam by J. Cockshoot & Co from Manchester in the original colour black.
The MG was imported to Belgium in 1988, where the car had the same owner until 2003. In 2003 it was sold to the last Belgian owner, who completely restored the car to a very high level. The restoration is supported by many photos showing the extensive work, for example, the car has been completely body-off restored and everything has been returned to bare metal. The technology has also been overhauled, and you notice that to this day.

The car comes with a folder with a lot of documentation, containing photos of the restoration, invoices and the entire owners history, which shows that the car has only had 5 owners over the last 90 years.
