Quattroporte – a name steeped in Maserati tradition. In response to the growing trend for high-performance saloons (think Jaguar Mark 1 and Mark 2), the first Quattroporte was born in the 1960s. The fourth generation made its debut in 1993, designed by the legendary Marcello Gandini. What emerged was a remarkably compact saloon of understated elegance. Beneath the bonnet lies the iconic V6 biturbo engine – the same heart-throbbing powerplant that had already stirred excitement in the 1980s and kept Maserati’s order books full.

The 2.8-litre version of the Quattroporte delivers 287 bhp – a bold statement in the four-door segment by mid-1996 standards. It’s on well-surfaced Alpine roads where this sporty yet luxurious saloon feels most at home. Power delivery is impressive, and the refined interior equally so.

As auto motor und sport wrote in the late 1990s: "The Quattroporte offers an interior style far removed from the bleak plastic landscapes found in many vehicles – even in higher price classes. Its greatest appeal undoubtedly lies in its Italian elegance."

The Quattroporte offered here is an unrestored, well-preserved example that has remained in the same family ownership since new. The exceptionally low mileage of just 35,000 km is fully documented, with service records present. The timing belt was replaced two years ago and only a few hundred kilometres ago.
