About the development history of the Z1 (E30Z):
The project was planned and executed by BMW Technik GmbH, a subsidiary founded in 1985. Key figures included Ulrich Bez and designer Harm Lagaay. From early 1989 to mid-1991, exactly 8,000 units of the Z1 were built in a limited series. Initially, daily production was capped at six vehicles.
At launch, the price was 80,000 DM and later rose to 89,000 DM. The Z1 models were handmade.
As of 2025, only 3,551 Z1 vehicles are registered in Germany.

The vehicle is in a very well-maintained visual and technical condition and, even after 35 years, still impresses with its incredibly good driving characteristics.
No rattling! Neither from the chassis nor from the engine and transmission.
The interior's condition is comparable to that of a nearly new vehicle.

The car spent the last 11 years warmly stored in a collector’s living room, where it was driven only twice a year.

Work recently performed by our master workshop:

• Front axle: brake discs, brake pads, and calipers
• Rear axle: brake discs and pads
• Front and rear shock absorbers
• Front stabilizer links
• New summer tires
• Gas strut for the hood
• Major service
  We only install high-quality replacement parts from our trusted supplier.
  In 2022, the timing belt was renewed at 73,250 km.

Of course, after all these years, there are a few imperfections we won't hide:

• The soft top was repaired at the rear right.
• Minor cracks are expected around the driver's door handle area.
• The lower area of the side sill appears to have been repainted.
