Dutch Karmann Ghia 1600 with invoices from the restoration and a recent valuation report. Restored in the Netherlands about 6 years ago by a well-known Volkswagen specialist. The restoration was therefore carried out with craftsmanship and the result is very beautiful.
The body has been repainted in the original Karmann Ghia colour “Gold L97”, which looks stunning on the car. It is a rare colour because metallic paint was an expensive option at the time. Only three metallic colours were available back then! The paintwork is excellent. The paint looks beautiful with only a few signs of wear. The chassis has been completely overhauled and treated with anti-rust. A sunroof was fitted in the past, which adds to the driving pleasure. The chrome bumpers are new and the rims have also been repainted and fitted with the correct hubcaps. Naturally, new tyres have been fitted, including the spare wheel.
The entire interior is also in excellent condition. The seats and bench have been reupholstered and refilled. The dashboard is beautiful, and the original steering wheel looks like new. The floor covering and door trim are new, including the beautiful map pockets. Under the bonnet, everything is neatly painted. A clean and tidy engine compartment, just as it should be! The boot and front luggage compartments are also beautifully upholstered and finished.
There are invoices available with a value of €25,500, including the recent engine overhaul. Everything that needed to be replaced has been replaced, which is why the Karmann Ghia drives so well. The famous boxer engine starts immediately and runs beautifully, both hot and cold. Shifting gears is light and easy. There are no extraneous noises while driving and it all feels very solid and sturdy. What a beautiful and fun Volkswagen this is, and much rarer than a Beetle.
