Toen Porsche in 1983 de 911 Carrera 3.2 introduceerde, kreeg de inmiddels legendarische G-serie zijn definitieve en meest volwassen vorm. De vergrote 3.2 liter zescilinder boxermotor gold als de meest betrouwbare en best rijdbare 911 tot dan toe, en dat maakt deze generatie tot op de dag van vandaag zo geliefd bij liefhebbers. De Targa neemt daarbij een bijzondere plek in de merkgeschiedenis in: ooit bedacht als antwoord op de dreigende Amerikaanse veiligheidsregels voor open auto's, uitgegroeid tot een eigenzinnig icoon met zijn karakteristieke roestvrijstalen rolbeugel en afneembaar dak. Deze 911 Targa uit 1984 combineert de 3.2 liter zescilinder met de handgeschakelde vijfversnellingsbak en beschikt over Bilstein schokdempers, waarmee het onderstel prettig strak is afgestemd. Binnenin wacht een Graubeige lederen interieur met fraai gestikte sportstoelen, bijpassende deurpanelen en de kenmerkende Porsche-instrumentenopstelling met vijf klokken in het zwarte dashboard. Het lichte, zandkleurige leder maakt het interieur luchtig en licht, en vormt samen met het donkerrode lakwerk een klassieke jaren-tachtig combinatie die elegant en sportief tegelijk oogt. When Porsche introduced the 911 Carrera 3.2 in 1983, the now legendary G-series took on its definitive and most mature form. The enlarged 3.2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine was considered the most reliable and best-driving 911 to date, and that is what makes this generation so beloved by enthusiasts to this day. The Targa holds a special place in the brand's history: originally conceived as a response to the looming American safety regulations for open-top cars, it has evolved into a distinctive icon with its characteristic stainless steel roll bar and removable roof. This 1984 911 Targa combines the 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine with the five-speed manual transmission and features Bilstein shock absorbers, ensuring a pleasantly firm suspension setup. The car's maintenance history is known, and the engine was overhauled in 2013, for which both invoices and photos are available. The original booklets are also still present, as are the original air conditioning and cruise control: options that made this Targa a luxuriously equipped example at the time.
