THE PORSCHE 911 E
The Porsche 911 E was positioned between the T and S in the early 911 range. Its 2.0-litre flat-six with Bosch mechanical fuel injection offered an appealing balance of performance, refinement and everyday usability.
Today, these early 911s are particularly appreciated for their compact proportions, direct driving character and distinctive period specifications.
THIS 911 E
This 1969 Porsche 911 E Coupé stands out for its particularly attractive factory colour combination of Olive green over a tan leatherette interior. Understated yet distinctive, this combination captures the character of the early 911 and is rarely encountered today.
Originally delivered to the United States, the car arrived in Belgium in 2015, when a comprehensive restoration was commenced shortly afterwards. The body proved to be an excellent foundation, requiring very little welding. The restoration was subsequently carried out as a no-expense-spared, nut-and-bolt undertaking, addressing the bodywork and paint, interior, engine, gearbox, mechanical fuel injection system and associated mechanical components.
The bodywork and repaint in the original Olive factory colour were entrusted to the bodyshop operated by the owner's brother. The entire interior was renewed by Lakewell, well known for its Porsche interior work. The engine, gearbox and mechanical fuel injection system were entrusted to BMP, the respected Porsche engine specialist who has since retired.
The result is a comprehensively restored example, retaining its original factory colour scheme and specification. The original tinted windows & radio remain in place, an appreciated detail that complements the car's period character.
Mechanically, the car retains its matching-numbers engine and gearbox, together with its matching mechanical fuel injection pump. Restoration invoices document the work carried out, while subsequent servicing and technical inspection are supported by invoices from reputable shops like Porsche Centre and RSC Automobile.
Following completion of the restoration, the 911 E remained in its owner's private collection and has been driven very sparingly. According to the owner, it has never been driven in the rain or in poor weather conditions.
The car is accompanied by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and Kardex, documenting its original factory specification. In 2021, it was assigned an insurance value of €155,000 by a recognised Belgian automotive expert.
With its rare Olive-over-tan colour combination, comprehensive restoration by known specialists, matching mechanical components, original tinted glass and substantial supporting documentation, this 1969 Porsche 911 E Coupé is a compelling example of the early fuel-injected 911.
The car currently has Belgian registration and is sold on behalf of our client.
