Our 1959 Porsche 356 A 1600 Convertible D by Drauz is one of the rarest and most collectible variants of the entire 356 range. Built as the successor to the iconic Speedster, the Convertible D offered a more usable and refined alternative while retaining the lightweight character and unmistakable styling that made the early Porsche sports cars so popular.

Coachbuilt by Drauz of Heilbronn for just a single model year, only 1,331 examples of the Convertible D were produced, making it one of the lowest production and most sought after open top 356 models.

Finished in an excellent Ruby Red over black colour combination, this example is fully matching numbers and presents exactly as collectors would hope to find one. Its history is equally impressive, having remained with just its second owner for an incredible 50 years, a rare level of long term ownership that adds genuine provenance and confidence.

The car has since been the subject of a comprehensive restoration by recognised marque experts, with great attention paid to originality, correctness, and overall finish.
